The Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA), in partnership with Informa Markets, honored outstanding Filipino farms and cooperatives whose agripreneurial success, innovation, sustainable practices, and leadership have significantly contributed to community development and the advancement of the country's livestock sector.

Held during the Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines Expo at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, the Livestock Philippines Recognition welcomed four new awardees to its distinguished roster of honorees since the recognition program's launch in 2023.

The Outstanding Livestock Cooperative Award was conferred upon Sta. Catalina Multipurpose Cooperative, a North Cotabato-based organization recognized for its exemplary leadership in organizing farmers, promoting sustainable livestock production, and creating economic opportunities for its members.

Over the years, the cooperative has diversified its operations into sustainable swine production, livestock dispersal programs, feeds and farm input distribution, and other agriculture-based enterprises that continue to benefit local farming communities.

The title of Outstanding Goat and Sheep Farm was awarded to Jolly Goat Dairy Farm of Butuan City for its excellence in goat and sheep production, particularly its strong breeding program, commitment to animal welfare, and adoption of sustainable farm management practices.

Meanwhile, Gilmark Antonio Farm in San Manuel, Isabela, was named Outstanding Poultry Broiler Farm for its dedication to delivering high-quality protein products while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, food safety, and sustainable farming.

The recognition follows another milestone for the farm earlier this year. In May, Gilmark Antonio Farm was among the Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP)-certified farms in Region II recognized by the DA's Bureau of Animal Industry for its remarkable production of 448,000 broiler chickens.

The Outstanding Poultry Layer Farm Award was bestowed upon Ta-ala Farm of Bacolod City for its exceptional performance in egg production, efficient layer management, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to quality assurance.

The recognition marks the second time that Ta-ala Farm has received the distinction, having first won the same award in 2024.

In a video message, DA Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. Constante J. Palabrica commended the awardees for setting a benchmark of excellence in the industry.

"Those we honor today are proof that real change begins with people who care, are dedicated, and have a clear vision for the future of the sector. You will serve as an inspiration to more Filipinos who wish to contribute to strengthening the livestock industry," Palabrica said.

The Livestock Philippines Recognition underscores the Department of Agriculture's continuing commitment to promoting innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the livestock industry by celebrating individuals and organizations that are helping shape a more resilient and competitive agricultural sector.
