Vietnamese agribusiness company Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa JSC (AgriS) has opened a Global Innovation Center in Singapore, creating a regional platform designed to move agricultural technologies from research and development into commercial applications and international markets. The centre was inaugurated during AgriS Global NEXUS 2026 – Converge to Elevate, which brought together government representatives, diplomatic missions, research institutions, universities, financial institutions, investment funds and businesses from Vietnam, Singapore and across the region.
AgriS said the Singapore centre will connect scientific research, technology, data and market intelligence with its production capabilities and agricultural value chains. The objective is to shorten the path from developing and validating an idea to deploying it commercially at scale. Tran Phuoc Anh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Singapore, said AgriS’s decision to establish the centre reflects the growing international ambitions of Vietnam’s private sector. He said Singapore can serve as a strategic hub connecting AgriS’s agricultural base in Vietnam and the wider region with universities, research institutes, technology companies, investors and international customers.
The centre will operate as AgriS’s permanent innovation hub in Singapore, with four broad strategic roles: accelerating agricultural innovation and commercialisation; connecting research and development with businesses and international markets; strengthening supply-chain integration and value creation; and supporting AgriS’s regional and global expansion. For AgriS, the emphasis is on closing the gap between laboratory innovation and agricultural deployment. The company plans to work with domestic and international experts and technology partners to test and co-develop high-tech agricultural solutions while assessing their fit with real production conditions, technology requirements, financing needs and market demand.
Dang Huynh Uc My, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of AgriS, said innovation creates value when scientific research moves into practical applications, becomes part of an integrated value chain and reaches markets at sufficient scale. She described the Singapore centre as a convergence point for strategic partners, scientific and technological capabilities, agricultural and production platforms, capital and international markets.
The centre is also expected to give AgriS a stronger base from which to identify technologies and partnerships beyond Vietnam, while providing international investors and technology companies with a gateway into the company’s agricultural production platforms and regional value chains. By bringing R&D, production, finance and market considerations into the innovation process earlier, AgriS aims to improve the commercial viability and scalability of technologies before they are deployed more widely.
The move reflects a broader shift in agricultural innovation, where the challenge is increasingly not just developing new technologies but translating them into solutions that can operate within real-world farm, supply-chain and market conditions. With Singapore serving as its regional innovation hub, AgriS is seeking to position agricultural technology commercialisation as a bridge between Vietnam’s production capabilities and global capital, expertise and markets.
